Black Bean Brownies - a healthy but indulgent treat to try for Easter



Over Easter weekend why not experiment with some healthier alternatives to those traditional recipes? These black bean brownies taste so good no one would know how really good they are for you!


The antioxidants, fibre, protein, and carbohydrates in black beans make them nutritionally powerful. A diet rich in beans can reduce your risk of several serious medical conditions and help your body to process calories more effectively.


Black beans provide you with the following vitamins and minerals:

Black Bean Brownies

Ingredients

3.5 tbsp Cocoa powder Broken pieces of dark chocolate break a bar up 120g coconut sugar/Silver birch (Bonraw) 3 eggs 1 tin black beans 1 tsp Baking powder 1 tsp vanilla extract Pinch of Salt 3 tbsp Coconut oil


Method Mash the black beans and stir in the eggs followed by the cocoa powder, coconut sugar, melted chocolate, coconut oil, vanilla, baking powder and salt.

Bake at 180C for 25 minutes and once cooked cut into squares. Then enjoy every mouthful!
