Slow-release carbohydrates, rich in antioxidants, powerful soluble fibre… the benefits of porridge are endless!
120g oats of your choice
600ml to 700ml of milk (organic cows, goat, nut, rice, soy), water or a mixture of both depending on how creamy you like your porridge
Add the oats to a small saucepan and stir in the milk or water
Bring to the boil over a medium heat and reduce down to an active simmer
Keep stirring. Depending on your oats, they should be cooked anywhere between one to 10 minutes (MornflakeOrganic Super Fast Oats take one minute to cook from boiling, whereas Rude Healths Organic Sprouted Organic Oats take a little longer)
Remove from the heat and pour into bowls
The list of toppings is endless; from simply honey, to fruit (banana and raspberries work particularly well), seeds and nuts, a dollop of jam… create your own fabulous porridge!
